Blame it on oversaturation, but my interest in personal-style bloggers has waned a bit in recent years. I find it hard to keep up with the sheer number of sites and, in lots of cases, the similarities between them. That said, I am in awe of the young women who’ve risen to become the OGs in the space; the ones who didn’t jump on the train after they saw others doing it, but who set the blueprint for the new class and have managed to brand themselves and eke out a lucrative career on the basis of their own unwavering sense of style. Among that group: Julie Sariñana of the blog Sincerely, Jules.
The 30-year-old first launched her site in 2009—before iPads, before Instagram, before companies like Reward Style realized there was real power in monetizing fashion blogs—yet her personal style is exactly the same: easygoing, casual, quintessentially California. Her relatable approach to style, coupled with high-quality images and an ability to elevate pieces we all have such as jeans and tees, knits, and sneakers, has netted her nearly 3.5 million Instagram followers, a clothing line, and several collaborations.
Most recently, Julie’s teamed up with New York–based jewelry line Lionette by Noa Sade on a five-piece capsule collection inspired by her love of California that launches today, and we caught up with her to talk about all things style. Get to know Julie below, and click through the gallery to see some of her best looks and pieces from her new jewelry collab!
Who are you, and what do you do?
My name is Julie Sariñana, and I run the blog Sincerely, Jules.
If we opened your closet today, what would we see a ton of?
Bags and shoes! Those are the two things I love to splurge on.
Can you describe your style?
Perfectly imperfect. I love to have an imperfect look with something a bit out of place, like messy shoelaces or a half-tucked-in shirt. I love to combine my natural California-girl look with a bit of classic and effortless Parisian style.
All-time favorite brands?
Isabel Marant, Levis, and Chloé.
What’s the last thing you bought?
The Balenciaga leather cutout derbies! Love finding a flat shoe that’s easy to run around in.
What’s the one thing you’d never wear?
I’d never wear patent-leather clothing—but shoes, yes!
Do you use any fashion-related apps?
I don’t, but I love photo-editing apps like VSCO, Snapseed, and Facetune.
What will you 100 percent be buying this spring?
Not sure yet, but definitely a bag.
Where do you shop online?
My favorite online shop is Revolve. I also love to shop on Vestaire Collective and eBay. Some of my all-time favorite pieces were bought on those sites!
If money wasn’t a factor, what would you buy right now?
A house in L.A. and a pied-à-terre in Paris.
What three songs are on repeat right now?
“Work” by Rihanna; “Jumpman” by Drake and Future; “Ex Factor” by Lauren Hill
Which is your favorite piece from the Lionette NY x Sincerely, Jules capsule collection?
I’m equally loving the anklet and the earrings ($438). The anklet ($248) is a perfect everyday piece, and the earrings are so gorgeous that you can’t help but fall in love!
